Hello, Chatharen!
I’m glad to hear you want to ring in the New Year at the Happiest Place on Earth. The
Disneyland Resort theme parks typically stay open later than usual on New Year's Eve and offer extra entertainment, like live performances, parades, and special fireworks, so it’s sure to be an exciting night!
Generally speaking, reservations at the three
Disneyland Resort Hotels become available for booking approximately 120 days in advance. The timeline is a bit different if you plan to purchase a
Disneyland Resort Vacation Package, as hotel bookings that are part of a complete package are currently available for check-in dates through the end of 2024.
Theme park reservations can only be made up to 180 days in advance of your visit. So, if you’ll be traveling in late December, you can't make your theme park reservations just yet and will need to wait approximately another week to do so.
That said, you still have the option of booking your vacation package now (which includes a ticket purchase) and making your theme park reservations when they become available. Or, instead of going with a package, you could book your hotel now and then purchase your
theme park tickets separately when your dates are available. If you do wait and purchase your tickets when you’re within 180 days of your theme park visit, you'll be able to make your theme park reservations during that transaction.
The choice is yours, but keep in mind that when you buy a vacation package, you’re able to make payments after an initial deposit and pay off your trip gradually, which can be a helpful budgeting tool. Plus, packages currently include a Magical Extras Savings Card that offers discounts at select dining and merchandise locations in the
Downtown Disney District.
I hope this answers your question Chatharen, and that you have the most wonderful vacation! Please feel free to write back to
planDisney with more questions as your planning continues.
Wishing you magic,
Courtney
