Also wondering about things for 8 year olds to do. Have a neckband for pin trading but what other cool things are there for my son to do while on the property for 7 days?

    Hi Michelle,

Pin-trading is a great deal of fun for 8-year-olds, but I also recommend that you acquire an autograph book and pen for your son before your next Walt Disney World adventure.  Leave a blank page in between each character's signature.  Then when you return from your magical vacation, you can put photos of your son with that character on the facing page in the book.  This makes such a nice keepsake of your family trip.  Also be sure to put your son's name and address in the back of the book in case he loses it.  The cast members at Walt Disney World are wonderful about returning lost autograph books as long as the owner can be identified.

If your son enjoys video games, I bet he would enjoy an afternoon or evening at DisneyQuest located in Downtown Disney.  My 11-year-old son had a blast there during our recent trip to the World.  He can't wait to go back.

Also, I'd recommend that you give your son a camera of his own to use while on vacation.  Digital cameras are quite inexpensive these days.  If your son takes his own photos while traveling he will get to record the parts of the hotel and parks that he most wants to remember.

Wishing your family a magical visit to Walt Disney World!
