We're wondering about things to do on Halloween othr than MNSSHP. I've heard Fort Wilderness is a good place. Are their events suitable for a 13 y/o boy? Do adults wear costumes too? Are the carriage rides different on Halloween? Thanks for your help!!

    Hi Kerri,

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Celebrating Halloween at the Walt Disney World Resort is just about as "spooktacular" as it gets! There's lots of ghoulish fun to be had, especially at The Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort.

Guests staying at the Campgrounds have been known to elaborately decorate their campsites so, you'll have the chance to see some spooky holiday decor all throughout the area. I recommend taking a Wagon Ride, it's a great way to view all of the ghostly garnishments! Wagon Rides depart daily at 6:00 PM and 8:30 PM and are available on a first come, first served basis. ( there is an extra cost involved, and reservations are recommended) In the past, there have been Pet Parades, Golf Cart decorating contests, and Pumpkin decorating contests as well as a Halloween Parade and Trick or Treating. Be sure to pick up a Times Guide when you arrive at the Resort to see a listing of events and activities taking place. Adults can wear costumes but masks are not permitted.

I hope this information helps. Please let us know if you have any additional vacation planning questions!

    Wishing You A "Boo-tiful" Visit,
