I am was wondering if you can tell me what the weather is like for travel the last week of September? Also what activities are going on that week? And we are looking at doing the Haunted Carriage ride - what ages is that appropriate for? Thanks

    Hi Jana!

September is a great time of year to go.  The crowds are usually small.  However, the weather can be hit or miss in my opinion.  Sometimes, it's absolutely beautiful, while other times its still very hot and humid!

Be sure to consider going to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party.  It requires a special ticket but the party in the Magic Kingdom is worth it.  The parade and fireworks show are fabulous!  I've never met a guest who didn't enjoy trick or treating in the Magic Kingdom.  If you have any young children in your party, be sure to bring a costume for them.  In fact, even some adults dress up for the party!

The International Food and Wine Festival at Epcot starts at the end of that week if you're still going to be around.  That's a fabulous event if you like eating!  A favorite pastime is "eating around the World" where you try out various things from the food booths installed all around World Showcase Lagoon.

I took my family on the Haunted Carriage Ride last year.  My two boys were 11 and 6.  My 11 year old absolutely loved it.  My 6 year old was a little scared, but not overly so... until the surprise happens.  Then I kind of distracted him and made sure he didn't see what was going on; thus he was fine.  My guess is children over the age of 8 or 9 will not have any problems.

Enjoy planning your magical Walt Disney World Resort vacation and write back if you have any more questions!
