Hello I was just wondering if you could tell me what the best restraunt in WDW is for gluten free food . My sister has celiac disease and we want to find an exciting restraunt for her that she can have fun at. Please tell me your personal favourite. Thanks

    Hi Kimberly!

I am happy to tell you that your sister will find MANY choices for amazing and exciting meals at Walt Disney World Restaurants!

Walt Disney World Resort table service restaurants that accept reservations can accommodate most food allergies and food intolerances, such as gluten, wheat, soy, shellfish, lactose, milk, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, or eggs.

I do recommend that you choose some restaurants you would both like to try out, and then call ahead to schedule your reservation at (407) WDW-DINE.  Indicate your special diet requests to the Cast Member from Disney Dining.  They will note the allergy in your reservation request.

When you arrive for your Dining Experiences in Walt Disney World, make sure you tell the Cast Member serving you that you wish to speak to the Chef regarding food allergies/intolerances.  We have found that the Chefs go out of their way to prepare an amazing meal according to your needs!  And, in the case of the buffets, they will often even walk you through every item on the buffet, explaining which foods you can and cannot eat.

Now, all of this being said, as with any other dining establishments, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts cannot guarantee that allergens may not have been introduced during another stage of the food chain process, or even inadvertently, during preparation.  In addition, at buffets there is also the risk of cross-contamination by other diners.  The responsibility of food choices is ultimately up to the Guest.

As for the "best" restaurants, we have found "Yak & Yeti" at Animal Kingdom to be wonderful for an exciting gluten-free meal.  It is very different from the "norm", and may be a fun and adventurous place for your sister to try!

I hope you have a wonderful time, and that your sister is able to enjoy some amazing meals at Walt Disney World!
