Hiya Kristen! Welcome to planDisney.
First things first: the “At Last I See the Light” scene from Tangled is one of the best and most beautiful scenes from any Disney movie, am I right? I just love the moment where you see Rapunzel’s parents release their lantern and then the camera pans out to show the lanterns filling the sky over Rapunzel and Flynn. It gets me every time.
The
Tangled Lantern PhotoPass photo stop right outside the Tangled restrooms in
Magic Kingdom Park is on my bucket list too. I’ve never quite been able to time it correctly, and I turn into Mother Gothel for a minute when I see my friends’ photos (just kidding, they’re gorgeous and I love them).
I checked with a Cast Member, who confirmed that the Tangled Lantern photo is not currently being offered. This is likely because photo props need to be sanitized between photos, which just isn’t practical right now during the
phased reopening of the Walt Disney World Resort. This is such a beloved photo and I’m sending pixie dust to us both that it comes back when it’s safe.
I am happy to confirm that there is a very easy way to find
Disney PhotoPass Service photo locations around the theme parks. Using the map feature in the
My Disney Experience mobile app, tap the drop-down at the top middle, and filter for Disney PhotoPass. You’ll be able to see all the current PhotoPass photographer locations throughout the parks. While it doesn’t tell you what the photo is, it’s an easy way to find a photographer.
For staying up to date with the latest photos available throughout the theme parks, I have two favorite sources. One is following Disney PhotoPass Service on Facebook, and the other is the
Disney Parks Blog.
Have so much fun saying cheese for all the photos on your visit to the Walt Disney World Resort, Kristen! I hope your visit is wonderful – go live your dream!
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
