Hello Jeana!
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is positively spooktacular! I love being able to interact with different characters especially while I am dressed in costume. If you are able to, I absolutely recommend dressing up for the party. That in itself sparks conversation with the Disney characters. I had the privilege of meeting Jack Skellington and Sally once and it was horrifying in all the best ways possible. We danced together. He tried to scare me; I tried to scare him. For my picture, I made my best Jack Skellington face with my hands in the air in my best scary pose. The look on my face still makes me laugh. You can also bow if you wish, he is royalty after all - the Pumpkin King!
I love making the most out of the character meet 'n' greets, because they love interacting with Guests. I recommend talking to them about something you remember from their movie, your favorite quote, ask them where another character is, compliment them on an item or show them something special to you. Sometimes I just try to imagine myself in my favorite part of the movie.
As far as poses go, I like to do something different than the traditional pose. I think it depends on how you want your picture to turn out. Do you want it serious, funny, silly, happy, or scary? My favorite pictures are ones that are different or capture an emotion. Different facial expressions are always fun to experiment with.

Have an eeek-cellent time at the party!
