Hi there, I was wondering about the size of the pull down beds that are available in some rooms at Port Orleans, Riverside. One of our children is 17 but she is only 5'1" and weighs about 105. Do you think the pull down bed will be ok?

    Hi Christopher,

Thanks for the great question. It's one our family explored ourselves earlier this year.

The pull down beds at Port Orleans Riverside are generally described as child-sized because they are a bit shorter than a typical twin bed. However, when we stayed at the resort last spring, each of my daughters took turns sleeping on the pull down. Both are thin, but one is 5'5" and the other is 5'8".

They found the pull down preferable to sharing a queen bed, though my shorter daughter was more comfortable She also tends not to move much when she sleeps.

They both said they were fine in the beds but wish we had asked  housekeeping to bring an extra pillow and blanket. We will do that on our next visit.

I hope our experience helps you decide if it will work for your family, Christopher. Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Please let us know if we can answer any other questions as you make your Walt Disney World vacation plans. Enjoy!
