I was wondering if there was any shaded area's at the water parks. I had skin cancer last summer and need to stay out of the sun, but i am a single mom with 3 boys who want to visit the water parks. Thank

    Hi Cynthia!

I'm a shade-seeker too!  There are lots of shaded areas at the water parks, but the key to "snagging" a shady home for the day is to arrive at the park of your choice early (i.e., up to a half hour before the park opens).  At Blizzard Beach (our favorite of the two), there are some wonderful shady cabanas located in Tikes Peak (which is the first main area you hit as you enter the park).  They have picnic tables and lounge chairs and are great place to set up fort during the day.  There are also several shaded areas around the main pool.  There are plenty of other shady spots located throughout both parks and are easy to spot.

As you can imagine, shade is in high demand for families with children planning to spend the day, so I definitely recommend taking my advice and arriving early.  The water parks are incredible, and a great place to beat the heat.  We love to go during the summer, when spending an entire day in one of the four main theme parks can be oppressive.  You honestly don't even notice the heat when you are soaking wet!

    Have a great visit!
