I was wondering if I can use a rider switch if I’m using a FastPass. My husband and I will be going with our one year old and I was looking into getting MaxPass but can I get away with only paying for one and then using Rider switch?

    Greetings, Alicia!

How wonderful to be planning your family visit to the Happiest Place on Earth! The complimentary Disney FASTPASS and Rider Switch services are wonderful ways to help make your visit even more magical. Each guest using the FASTPASS queue must have a FASTPASS associated with their theme park ticket. In some cases, it may be useful to ask a Cast Member about Rider Switch as well. For example, if you happen to arrive at the end of your FASTPASS return window, the Cast Member at the FASTPASS return entrance should be able to help make sure the second rider’s FASTPASS is still available after the first rider returns. Particularly for those times you use the Standby entrance to attractions, Rider Switch will help everyone in your party experience the “big kid attractions” with a minimal overall wait.

Tony’s Tip for Travelling with Tots: Moms deserve a break. I say you should get to experience attractions first! Bonus points for timing your arrival at an attraction when the toddler needs a “refresher.” Fortunately for Dad, diaper changing stations are available in many of the restrooms and companion restrooms abound. The Baby Care Centers are also great locations for Dad to take care of the little Mouseketeer while you enjoy riding an attraction. They include changing stations, convenient vending machines for essentials, and even tiny toilets for training toddlers.

There are multiple attractions that offer Disney FASTPASS service and have no minimum height. So your whole family will be able to take advantage of using FASTPASS on those attractions together! You may make those FASTPASS selections with the traditional distribution kiosks or with the convenience of your mobile device using Disney MaxPass. If you choose to use complimentary FASTPASS, you may still be interested in using MaxPass to get access to unlimited downloads of all your Disney PhotoPass photos.

I hope you have a magical time, Alicia. Please stop by again with any additional questions you may have.
