Hiya, Nicole, and thanks for stopping by
planDisney with your question!
I hope you’ve been enjoying your year as a
Magic Key holder! It sounds like you’re almost within your 30-day renewal window before your Magic Key expires, so it’s a good time to start thinking about renewing. I’m happy to report that the transition from your current Magic Key to your renewed Key is seamless, and you shouldn’t have any problem using it shortly after completing your transaction. In fact, you should be able to
start making reservations with your renewed Key right away. After I completed my renewal, I still saw my former Key, in addition to my renewed Key, on the “Book Theme Park Reservations” page. I was able to make reservations with both Keys for a short time period before my former Key expired. So, you can start planning for the future by securing your upcoming reservations!
As soon as you’re within your 30-day window, you can go ahead and navigate to
Disneyland.com/renew to start the renewal process. You’ll be prompted to sign into your Disney account, and then you’ll be directed to the renewal page. There, you’ll see your Magic Key, along with the Magic Key types that are currently available for renewal. So, you can choose to upgrade or downgrade your Magic Key, depending on which passes are available at that time.
If you plan to visit the Disneyland Resort soon, be sure to pick up a specialty branded Magic Key holiday tote in Disney California Adventure Park under Silly Symphony Swings from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM now through December 20, 2022. For more fun tips like this, follow

Wishing you another magic-filled year!
