How ya doin' Ben and welcome to planDisney!
While I personally feel like a busy day at the Walt Disney World Resort is better than a slower-paced day at home, I'm also super serious about picking times to visit that aren't packed. So you're searching for a quiet time to hop across the pond to The Most Magical Place on Earth? Oh boy, have I got a tip for you!
My personal favorite sweet spot for visiting The House of Mouse is the month of September! With the exception of Labor Day weekend, this particular month always feels much less intense in the crowd department. My family and I always choose this time for our family vacations and we always have a ball. Plus there's usually
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and the
EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival to sweeten the deal. As a matter of fact, my family vacation is fast approaching and I plan to squeeze every bit of fall magic I can out of my time.
Pro-tip: There are 2 great ways to get a vibe for how crowded the parks will possibly be. Over time I've started watching the wait times for attractions using the interactive map in the My Disney Experience app. If
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is under 60 minutes I know the crowd can't be that bad. And I check the
Theme Park Availability Calendar to see which color is most prevalent. If I see too much yellow on the calendar I know it's going to be more crowded. If you'll notice, at the time of this answer, September is totally green. And we all know green means go!
Ben, I hope my personal low-crowd hack helps you pick the best time to plan a magical stay for your family. But let's just keep this little secret between us. If you have any other questions, please feel free to
come back for another chat!Happy planning!
