Hi! I was wondering if you have to purchase a refillable mug in order to drink water in the hotel food court? Does it only work with mugs that have the chip? I don't drink soda or juices so it wouldn't be worth it for me to buy a mug. Thanks for your help.

    Hi there, Loretta!

You actually do not need to purchase a refillable drink mug at all if you only want to drink water from the food court at your Resort hotel. The refillable drink mugs are typically used for fountain soda and coffee at the food courts throughout Walt Disney World; that's where the micro-chips come into play. If you let the Cast Member know that you'd just like a cup for water, they'll give you a plain water cup that will work at the soda fountain when you use the water button.

The mugs are really cute though, and I've often heard of Guests buying them as souvenirs. You could definitely do that if you wanted to!

I hope this helps, Loretta! Please let us know if we can help with any other questions you have.

Wishing you and your family a Pixie Dusted vacation!
