I was wondering if I can purchase a maxpass for only part of our group. Our 3 year old doesnt meet the height requirements for many of the rides that we would use it on. Also, if we utilize the rider switch, would both my husband & I require maxpasses?

It’s great to hEAR from you again on the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Samantha!

Using Disney MaxPass is a great way to maximize your experience at the Disneyland Resort. You are welcome to purchase MaxPass for any guests in your party that would like to take advantage of the unique Disney FASTPASS benefits that it provides. Even having just one guest with MaxPass is OK, particularly if your main goal is to get the complimentary Disney PhotoPass photo downloads that come with MaxPass.

Tony’s Tip: Your party can make use of the complimentary Disney FASTPASS service even if not everyone has Disney MaxPass added to their tickets. However, Disney MaxPass users may find that the Disneyland app sometimes offers FASTPASS availability for certain attractions at times that are earlier than the times available from the traditional FASTPASS distribution points. To ensure that everyone in your party has the same or nearly the same FASTPASS return time, it is important to use the distribution points to obtain FASTPASS times for all guests in your party rather than some guests using the app and others using the distribution points.

If you are visiting the Disneyland Resort for multiple days, you may find that you want only some members of your family to have Disney MaxPass on some of the days of your visit. Then on one or two of your days in the parks, you may want everyone to enjoy the benefits of MaxPass. A number of attractions that offer FASTPASS service also don’t have a minimum height requirement. You can use MaxPass to enjoy select entertainment and attractions such as Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters and “it’s a small world” together and with less waiting. If you plan on using the Rider Switch service in conjunction with FASTPASS, all guests who will be riding should obtain a FASTPASS return time. That could be using either MaxPass or traditional FASTPASS.

MaxPass offers the convenience of being able to select FASTPASS times from your app. And it also often allows you to select more FASTPASS times sooner. With traditional FASTPASS, you may need to wait as many as 120 minutes before becoming eligible for a new FASTPASS time. But with MaxPass, that wait for new eligibility is never more than 90 minutes.

This was a great question, Samantha! Let’s keep the questions coming! We are so grateful for the chance to help out with your plans to visit the Happiest Place on Earth!

    See ya real soon!
