Magical greetings, Laurie, and welcome to planDisney! It's almost vacation month, and that's always so exciting. Fall is my very favorite time to visit Walt Disney World. This is partly because of the somewhat milder temperatures, the fall vibes,
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and
EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, all of which (except maybe the temps) are in full swing and will be going strong during your trip. Thanks for asking your question about special treats for your mom.
The Mickey Pumpkin Soft-serve at
Pineapple Lanai located just outside the Great Ceremonial House at
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort is a seasonal favorite, and I totally understand why your mom wants to give it a go. Not only does it sound delicious, but it looks really cute, too, very Instagrammable, if that matters to you.
When it comes to
food allergies, I can attest that Disney takes them very seriously, and they use a number of measures to make sure your food is safe. This often starts with planning before your trip starts. Many of the menus on the
Walt Disney World website contain an allergy section to help you prepare. I took a look, and while
Pineapple Lanai's menu doesn't have an allergy section, this usually just means that you'll need to speak with a Cast Member once you're on site to make sure dishes can be modified to meet dietary needs.
I have some good news for you, though. I spoke with a friendly Cast Member who confirmed for me that this specific menu item can be modified to be gluten-free. You'll still want to check with a Cast Member on site about your needs so they can make the necessary modifications. I also always recommend reconfirming once you receive your order.
Laurie, I hope your mom enjoys her pumpkin-spiced soft-serve and that you have a wonderful trip! Please visit us again soon if you have any other planning questions we can help with.
Grab hold of your dreams!
