I was wondering if the prices for costumes are different at the parks than at the Disney store. I am just trying to figure out whether or not to purchase before we leave or if we could wait until we get there? Thanks in advance for your response.

    Hi Michelle,

Thank you for submitting your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! This is a great question and is one of my biggest money saving tips! The Disney Store does offer the costumes at a more affordable price! The average price for a (princess) costume at the parks can be about $60.00 and that is not including the accessories. The Disney Store carries the costumes at about $45.00. However, the Disney Store has an advantage, they constantly have online discounts and they often have the costumes on sale. I recently purchased the Princess Tiana costume on sale at the Disney Store for $15.00!  Also keep in mind that the costumes sold at the Disney Store are different (styles, color and fabrics vary) than the ones at the Disney Parks.  Before I visit the Disney Parks, I always take my 3 year old to the Disney Store and outfit her with the costume of her choice and I bring it with me. The same goes with other items such as Mickey t-shirts, Disney Animator Dolls and plush characters.

Hope this helps! If I can assist you with any other planning question, please feel free to send my your questions!
