Hi Domenica! Welcome to planDisney!
I'm excited about your upcoming stay at the
Walt Disney World Resort! Traveling from South America is no small task, but I'm sure it will be well worth it once you arrive. A fun fact about myself is the first time I went on an airplane was to Ecuador. I traveled there when I was 18 years old and got a chance to visit many cities all around the country during my one-month stay! It was a truly memorable trip and one that I think back to often!
Let's get back to discussing your upcoming trip! First of all, Happy early Birthday to you! I can't think of a better way to spend this special day than at the Most Magical Place on Earth! Unfortunately, Walt Disney World does not allow you to transfer a dining reservation from one Guest to another. You will have a few options though to still be able to dine at
Chef Mickey's for your birthday!
One suggestion is to add your friend to your "Friends & Family List" on your
My Disney Experience account. Once added, your friend can list you and the rest of your party as Guests on the reservation, leaving one member of your party off. When you arrive at the restaurant, simply let them know that your friend will not be joining you and someone else will be taking their place. The other option is to coordinate with your friend about the exact time they will cancel their reservation. You should then be on the website ready to
make a dining reservation at Chef Mickey's for this exact time. Hopefully, you will have good luck and be able to snag the reservation once it is canceled. But anyone who is searching at that exact moment will be able to book it if they see it. This option has a higher risk factor involved.
Being that you are celebrating your birthday on this trip, I have a great feeling that some pixie dust will fly your way and you will be dining at Chef Mickey's upon your arrival. Celebrating this day with Mickey, Minnie, and the rest of the gang sounds like the perfect plan! While you are over at
Disney's Contemporary Resort, make sure to check out the large, mosaic tile mural that has been there since the hotel was built. It is an absolutely stunning masterpiece that is worth the monorail ride there to see in person!
Domenica, I hope you have an amazing time celebrating your birthday at the Walt Disney World Resort!
See ya real soon!
