Welcome to planDisney! My son had his first haircut at the
Harmony Barber Shop in Magic Kingdom Park many years ago. It was on Halloween Day and my little Buzz Lightyear had a magical moment that I will remember forever.
As with any
Enchanting Extra, advanced reservations are highly recommended for this special haircut. Unfortunately, our friends from across the pond in the UK face some difficulties making these reservations. Usually, at the 60-day mark before arrival, Guests can begin making reservations for dining and Enchanting Extras. However, there does not appear to be an online method for that to happen. Strangely enough, the Harmony Barber Shop is noted as "Temporarily Unavailable" which is not true at all. It has been open during all of my visits this past year. Don't let these factors deter you. Sue F., stated that she had some luck using the
My Disney Experience Mobile App. If that does not work then the only option is to wait until you arrive to try and secure a reservation online using the
US Harmony Barber Shop website. (This link will not work till you arrive in the US) There are also walk-in appointments available but they are booked very quickly. If you are not able to book this experience in advance, then on the day you wish to experience this, head bright and early to this shop and ask if there are any walk-in appointments available. The shop is open from 9 am to 4:45 pm and there could be a little line of people just like you trying to "rope drop " this experience.
The "My First Haircut" experience starts at around $28 (prices are subject to change) and includes a haircut, a souvenir Mickey Ears hat, a little lock of hair, and a certificate. As I write this, I realize that I may have lost that lock of hair and am slowly panicking.
