Wondering what Port Adventures you recommend on the 7-Night Western Caribbean cruise aboard the Disney Fantasy for a mom and daughter duo? Mom has limited mobility and uses a walker/portability chair. We both love culinary and/or cultural experiences.

    Ahoy, Amanda!

Welcome to planDisney! I am happy to help you plan your mother-daughter Port Adventures on the Disney Fantasy. Disney Fantasy is home to two of my favorite nighttime shows: “Disney’s Aladdin – A Musical Spectacular” and “Disney’s Frozen, A Musical Spectacular.” The evening performances are a great way to end a fun-filled day at sea.

It looks like you’d like some advice on mobility-friendly Port Adventures. On the Disney Cruise Line website, you can search Port Adventures by ports of call, experience type, activity level, accessibility, and price range. Under “Experience Type,” you’ll find culinary adventures and cultural activities. Once you click on a Port Adventure that interests you, you can read about the excursion. I always click on the “Know Before You Go” section. The first information listed is regarding mobility requirements on that specific Port Adventure.

I did take a peek at the places you were visiting and have a few recommendations. In Cozumel, Mexico, I recommend the “Accessible Mayan Experience, Tequila and Beach.” It is geared toward those with limited mobility, or the “Chocolate Seaside Workshop, Tasting and Wine Pairing” is a great culinary option -- plus, this one is just for adults. George Town, Grand Cayman, is a great place to see under the sea. However, if you don’t want to actually dive down yourself, there are a few options that do the work for you. The “Atlantis Submarine Expedition” is one possibility. It doesn’t require a lot of walking. In Falmouth, Jamaica, you could visit the “Good Hope Estate.” This is a cultural experience. There is a lot of time to explore on your own so that you can set your own pace. My favorite Port Adventure is “Rafting on the Martha Brae.” This, to me, is so Jamaican, plus you’re in a raft for two, which will allow for some excellent mother-daughter bonding time. Finally, Disney Castaway Cay is the perfect spot to take the day and relax on the beach. There are trams that take you all around the island, as well as plenty of beach chairs and umbrellas. It truly is an island paradise.

Amanda, I know you will make so many wonderful memories on your mother-daughter cruise. If you have any additional planning questions, please visit us again at planDisney.
