I am wondering about the pontoon boats you can rent for up to 10 people to take you out to see Illuminations at Epcot. Is it worth it? Or should we just try to get a good viewing point around World Showcase?

Michelle the Illuminations cruise is my favorite!  The one important difference between the Magic Kingdom fireworks show and Illuminations is that much of Illuminations is done at water level or just above. It is important to get a good spot where you can see clearly to get the full magic from the show.

The cruise is a very relaxing and enjoyable way to see this spectacular display of effects.  You will take a leisurely cruise down to the entrance of Hollywood Studios and then back around the Boardwalk area before finally docking just under the bridge by the International Gateway entrance to EPCOT.  From that point you will have a clear and close view of the show without the elbowing to try to get a better spot on land.

We like to add to the complementary drinks and chip snacks that they provide on board. We have often ordered strawberries or a special cake from private dining at the Yacht and Beach Club to enjoy during the cruise.
