Hi, I was wondering what the policy was for eating and drinking while on Walt Disney World transportation. Are the rules marked on the buses, boats, etc.? Thanks!

    Hi, Shirley!

When you enter most modes of transportation, you will get the standard "There is no eating, drinking, or smoking."  Now personally, I have never seen this enforced, but in my countless trips on Disney buses, boats, and monorails, I do not think I have ever seen anyone with more than a water bottle or a coffee or maybe a granola bar in the morning.  Eating during transfers is NOT a convenient thing.   It is crowded, can be bumpy, and very often standing room only.  Trying to balance with 2 kids, a folded stroller, and shopping bags, all while wearing mouse ears can be quite a challenge! Adding a meal could be a disaster!

In most cases, if you have your snack, you will have finished it during your wait for your transportation.  If your plan is to save time by dining on the bus, you might want to take the extra 15 minutes and enjoy your meal seated at a real table, or your sandwich may end up on the lap of the guy next to you!

Good luck, and I hope you have time to squeeze in a quick meal.

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
