Hi, wondering if you can please comment on whether the desserts at Docking Bay 7 and Santu’li Canteen are vegetarian? Not sure if they contain gelatine or not. Thanks!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Julie!

I was just at the Walt Disney World Resort a few weeks ago, where my friends and I started our morning in a galaxy far, far away on the planet of Batuu in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, before heading off to yet another planet as we visited Pandora – The World of Avatar. Where else can you travel through space and plant your feet on three planets over the course of a few hours?!

On my recent visit, I had desserts from both Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo and Satu’li Canteen. The Blueberry Cream Cheese Mousse from Satu’li Canteen is one of my very favorite Walt Disney World desserts – it’s got a gorgeous, creamy texture and the flavors blend so well. It’s my understanding that this dessert is not truly vegetarian because it contains gelatin, but I was not able to confirm this from official sources.

While I’m not currently vegetarian, I did formerly eat an exclusively plant-based diet, and I understand how important it is to have accurate information about ingredients. My advice is to contact the Special Diets team by emailing Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com to ask for ingredient lists for the desserts from both restaurants. Please note that you must make this request at least 14 days in advance of your arrival date to allow for processing time.

If your visit is within the next two weeks, your best bet is to ask a Cast Member to see the vegetarian menu when you arrive at the restaurant. You can also ask to speak with a chef or manager if you have specific ingredient questions. I was in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge just before it opened, and they were not able to provide me with a vegetarian menu, but assured me they would be available for Guests.

I’m sending plant-based pixie dust that you’re able to enjoy some delicious desserts while on Pandora and Batuu! I do know for sure that the blue and green milk from Milk Stand are vegan, and I thought the blue was pretty yummy and refreshing on a hot day, so don’t miss that option (and be sure to take a photo with this legendary drink from the Star Wars universe).

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
    Robyn
