Hey there, Marlo! Welcome to planDisney! Thanks for sharing your question with us, and thank you for your service.
Good job getting a jump on your 2027 vacation planning. I’ve planned a large family get-together at Walt Disney World, and I can confirm that planning a trip for a large group takes a little extra forethought, but the end result is totally worth it.
I would suggest
calling Group Reservations if you’ll be needing 10 or more rooms for your Walt Disney World adventure. A friendly Cast Member will be able to help you navigate your Disney Resorts Collection options and find the best fit for your group. You can call the Tickets and Hotel Reservations line if your family requires fewer than 10 rooms.
 Depending on your budget,
Disney Meetings & Events is another great resource if you’d like to schedule a special event as part of your reunion.
As a veteran, you may be eligible to stay at
Shades of Green Resort, which also hosts large groups and events. This resort is operated by the Department of Defense, not Walt Disney World, so you’ll need to
contact their Reservations & General Information line or the Events/Group Sales Office for assistance.
As your reunion trip begins to take shape, make sure you continue the conversation with your family to set expectations for the trip. Do folks expect to do a lot of activities as a group or split up throughout the day? What are they most excited about? Where do they want to eat? Clear communication before your visit will help ensure things run smoothly as you explore the Vacation Kingdom of the World.
I hope this information helps, Marlo. Don’t hesitate to return to planDisney with any other Disney vacation planning questions or if you need any recommendations. We’re always happy to help!
Magical travels!
Matt
