Hello there, Lisa! Welcome to
planDisney. Thank you so much for stopping by with your question!
I'm so glad you asked this, because the pizza meals can definitely be a little confusing when you're trying to figure out how the
Dining Plan credits are applied at
Walt Disney World.
First of all, I actually think the pizza meal deal is a fantastic use of Quick-Service credits, especially for families. It includes one large pizza plus two non-alcoholic beverages, and it can be such an easy and relaxing meal after a long park day.
When you redeem this particular meal using the Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan, the system automatically deducts two adult Quick-Service meal credits. You don't get to choose which credits are used manually, and it won't pull from child credits instead.
That's because children's Quick-Service credits are intended specifically for kids' meals at participating Quick-Service dining locations where children's menu items are offered. Since the pizza pickup deal is considered an adult-style shared meal rather than a children's meal option, the Dining Plan system pulls from the adult credit pool automatically.
So in your case, with one adult and two children on the Dining Plan, the pizza order would use two adult Quick-Service credits from your account. Your children's credits would remain untouched and available for use on kids' meals elsewhere throughout your trip.
Lisa, I honestly think this can work out beautifully for families because those children's credits can then be saved for other meals and snacks your kids may enjoy later on. July will be here before you know it, and I hope your vacation is absolutely magical from the first slice of pizza to the very last park day.
Warm hugs,
Ana Paula
