Christmas on Main Street

I was wondering when the parks and resorts make the transition from Halloween to Christmas? Also, we were looking into doing the Very Merry Christmas Party, when should I start to look for those tickets going on sale? Thanks!

Merry Christmas, Kayla! I love being able to answer Walt Disney World Resort holiday-related questions! It's a great way to keep the Christmas  spirit alive all year long!

As you can imagine, the transition from Halloween and fall decorations to Christmas decorations occurs rather magically at the Walt Disney World Resort! I'm fairly certain that Santa must send a crew of North Pole elves to assist the Seven Dwarfs with the decorating! Typically, you can expect to find the Disney Parks decorated for Christmas by the end of the first week in November. Some holiday decorations appear almost overnight after Halloween, while others take a just a little longer to put up in some of the parks.

The timeline for Disney Resort Hotels might be slightly longer than that of the Disney Parks. You can expect most resorts to be fully decorated by mid-November at the latest. Some resorts will be decorated earlier than others.

Like you, we at planDisney are hoping to see Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party return for the 2021 holiday season! Mickey and Minnie had to cancel this event last year due to the need to keep Guests physically distanced. In the past, tickets have gone on sale in April. This is subject to change so you will want to keep an eye on the Walt Disney World Resort website as well as the Disney Parks Blog! Traditionally, Mickey hosts his first party of the Christmas season around November 7 or 8. The party is then held on select nights throughout November and December! Again, dates are subject to change so be sure to check those two sources that I mentioned above!

As of the posting of this answer, there are 322 days until Christmas 2021! It's never too early to start a countdown to Christmas or for your next visit to the Most Magical Place on Earth!
