Hey there, Mary. Welcome to
planDisney.
Your question made me perk right up, Mary. Park hopping is my absolute favorite way to spend a Disney day and I am delighted to know that you'll be experiencing park hopping on your next Walt Disney World vacation.
With the addition of park pass reservations, park hopping has changed just a little bit. Here's how
park hopping is currently working:
- Guests wishing to park hop must have Walt Disney World Theme Park tickets with the park hopper option.
- Guests wishing to park hop must have park pass reservations for a specific theme park each day.
- On the day of, Guests will need to scan in and enter (if even only just a minute) to the theme park where their park pass reservation is made before continuing on to other theme parks later in the day. This sort of "activates" the park hopper feature each day.
- Park hopping hours now start at 2:00 p.m. and last until each park closes in the evening.
- It is not necessary, or even possible, to make park pass reservations for multiple theme parks each day. You'll only need to initial pass for the first theme park of the day.
Even with some of these changes, park hopping is still as fun as ever! I personally love visiting either Magic Kingdom Park, Disney's Hollywood Studios or Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park first thing in the morning. Then, in the afternoon when the parks tend to feel their busiest, I love taking a break. Typically I'll head back to the Walt Disney World Resort Hotel that I happen to be staying at for a swim. Then, around dinnertime, I like to clean up and spend the rest of the evening snacking and sipping around The World Showcase at EPCOT. It's a perfect way to spend the day.
I hope this helps plan your itinerary a little bit better, Mary. If you have other questions as you firm up your plans, please feel free to stop back by and
ask me. I'm here to help.
Happy hopping!
Jackie H.
