Hi there, Ashley, and welcome to planDisney!
I can’t think of a better place for you to celebrate your little one’s first birthday! I try to visit the Most Magical Place on Earth for as many of my kiddos’ birthdays as possible, and food is definitely always involved. Earlier this year, my family celebrated my younger son’s third birthday with a character breakfast at
‘Ohana at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. Last year, for my older son’s birthday, we visited Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park to hang out with Donald Duck and friends at
Tusker House Restaurant.
Although we opted out of adding a cake to our Tusker House Restaurant dining reservation, that was indeed a possibility, Ashley. For select restaurants at Walt Disney World Resort, you can add a Mickey Mouse Celebration Cake to your advance dining reservation via the My Disney Experience App or on the Walt Disney World website. So, it does depend on which restaurant that you have chosen. You can check out the list of participating restaurants on the
“Cakes At Walt Disney World Resort” webpage. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the white chocolate one that we had before watching the fireworks from
California Grill back in February. (And there was some left over for our kids to eat the next day!)
If you want to order a totally custom cake, I recommend checking out
Amorette’s Patisserie at Disney Springs. You’ll need to give the shop at least a 48-hour notice in order to create the cake of your dreams! You can find more information about what type of cakes and sweets that they offer on its website.
Happy early birthday to your little Mouseketeer, Ashley! If you need any other suggestions or have any questions about your upcoming vacation, please
give us a holler here at planDisney.
Magic always,
LeAndra
