Hi Deborah, and welcome to planDisney.
First and foremost, I'm terribly sorry for your loss. Your family's service and sacrifice are deeply appreciated, and it's my honor to help with your question today.
Deborah, if you are a surviving, un-remarried spouse with a valid military ID, you will be eligible for Walt Disney World Resort's
military-discounted theme park tickets and
Disney Resorts Collection hotel stays. I'm not sure when you're planning to visit, but if you're planning for 2022, we are still waiting for news about discounts for next year. Keep an eye on the
Special Offers webpage for more details. If you're planning a visit before December 2017, 2021, please call (407) 939-7830 for pricing and availability for
discounted resort hotel stays.
If you don't fall into the above category, my recommendation is to contact
Shades of Green at 1 (888) 593-2242. They are the resort hotel for military members on Walt Disney World Resort property, and their employees are wonderfully helpful when it comes to eligibility questions and helping you understand different discounts to which you may be entitled. They do offer a Survivors' Family Program for families who have suffered the loss of an active duty family member, and the staff there can explain what that includes. Shades of Green is a lovely resort hotel located right across the street from Disney's Polynesian Village Resort and provides a great option for eligible Guests.
Deborah, please take a look at the Gary Sinise Foundation's Snowball Express, which serves families of fallen heroes. They strive to give children and surviving spouses memorable and meaningful family experiences, including trips to Walt Disney World Resort. I'm so moved by Mr. Sinise's commitment to Gold Star families, and I hope they can help your family.
Thank you for stopping by with your question. If you have any further questions as you continue to plan your visit to the Walt Disney World Resort, please feel free to
reach out to me directly. I'm wishing your family peace and comfort, and also the opportunity to enjoy all the magic and love that is part of a Disney vacation.
Wishing you much magic,
Robyn
