MagicBand+ is one of my favorite items to have during our vacations to Walt Disney World. It allows me to quickly scan into my Lightning Lane entrance, charge my meals to my room, and pay for merchandise. It also allows me to experience magical extras around the park, like the way it lights up during the nighttime spectacular fireworks show, Happily Ever After. Let's see what we can find out about your question.
So I see you would like to know if your new unlinked magic band is returnable or exchangeable. I reviewed the
Merchandise Return Policy page on the Walt Disney World website, and here is what I found. According to the policy, MagicBand products may not be returned or exchanged. I certainly know this is not the answer you were hoping for, but I do have a couple of suggestions for you to consider.
If you purchased the item less than 30 days ago, you can try going back to the merchandise shop to see if they will allow you to return or exchange it. I know that the official policy is no, so that could certainly be the answer, but in my experience, if a cast member has a way to make it happen, they will do everything in their power to sprinkle in a little pixie dust. The second option, since it is unlinked, would be to sell it or gift it to a friend or family member who will be traveling to either
Walt Disney World or
Disneyland in the future.
