Hi there, Tiara. Welcome to planDisney!
Your visit to
The Happiest Place on Earth will be here soon, and while I wish I had a crystal ball to show me, there is no telling what might be playing next at the Hyperion Theatre at
Disney California Adventure Park. I still fondly remember watching
The Power of Blast! during its run at the Hyperion - over 20 years ago! Like you, I also enjoyed
Aladdin. And,
Frozen and
Rogers: The Musical! were both equally memorable.
It sounds like you might enjoy live entertainment so I have a couple of recommendations for your visit to Disney California Adventure Park. First, you must check out my planDisney pal Jonathan's favorite show
Mickey's PhilharMagic in Hollywood Land. It is whimsical, silly, and classic Disney. I think Donald Duck's antics will give everyone in your group a belly laugh!
After the show and just right across the street, check out Animation Academy,
Sorcerer's Workshop, and
Turtle Talk with Crush in the Animation Building. At
Animation Academy, a Disney artist walks you through how to sketch one of many Disney characters in just 30 minutes. There is a new character to draw at every show, and my middle son would sit there all day if we let him. At Turtle Talk, our favorite sea turtle, Crush, interacts with us human dudes in surprising and delightful ways. This show changes every time I see it and I cannot recommend it enough!
If you've got little Mousekteers in your party, be sure to check out the Disney Junior Dance Party just down the street from the Animation Building. My kids loved this show when they were little. It helped get their wiggles out while dancing along with some of their best Disney pals. And, hey, if you work up an appetite stop by Award Wieners for some Asada Fries - they're my husband's favorite!
For some live music, be sure to check out
Five & Dime on Buena Vista Street and the music at the Paradise Garden Bandstand. There are generally multiple shows a day, and showtimes can be found in the
Disneyland Mobile App.
If you have any Avengers fans in your group, be sure to swing over to
Avengers Campus for all the fantastic live entertainment, including
Avengers Assemble! at Avengers Headquarters and The Amazing Spider-Man! to name just a couple. I love strolling around and coming across Doctor Strange or Iron Man greeting their adoring fans. My kids had an epic interaction with Spiderman just last visit and he could not have been nicer!
Tiara, I can do this all day! I didn't even make it to Cars Land, Pixar Pier, or Grizzly Peak, but I'm out of space! I am going to let you in on a secret, Tiara. Nowadays, Disney California Adventure Park is my favorite park, and I hope it will be yours too. Please visit again with any other questions!
See you real soon,
Melissa
