Hello! I am wondering since the new Pixar pals parking structure opened, has the downtown Disney parking lot closed? Where do I park if I only want to go to downtown Disney? Are the validation rules still the same?

Hey there, hi there, ho there, Patricia!

Thanks for coming by the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I hope you enjoy your upcoming visit to one of my favorite places: the Downtown Disney District.

Disneyland Resort continues to make progress on the ambitious Project Stardust. The refurbishments of Sleeping Beauty Castle have recently concluded. And the results are breathtaking! Enhancements to walkways throughout Disneyland Park are already helping to improve guest circulation around the park. The amazing Pixar Pals Parking Structure  is now open for guests.

While the pedestrian bridge over Magic Way continues to be installed, expect continued adjustments to available parking for guests of the Downtown Disney District. As always, be sure to follow posted signs for the latest directions. At this time, you are likely to be directed to find parking at the Simba Parking Lot located immediately behind Paradise Pier Hotel. Guests of Downtown Disney District may park for up to three hours with a $20 minimum shopping purchase. Tip: even a purchase of a Disney Gift Card counts! If you dine at one of the many delicious table-service restaurants, you may receive a parking validation good for up to five hours on the same day. The recently-opened Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes and Ballast Point Brewing Co. are a couple of great options that I’ve enjoyed. Note that prices and conditions for parking are subject to change.

    Have a magical time, Patricia!
