Hi! Just wondering when the new Art Animation Resort will open and will it cater up to 6 people and will its's rates be on a par to the sports resorts rates. Do any resorts have interconnecting rooms, maybe 2 rooms for my family at a reasonable rate?

    Hi Kelly!

I am so incredibly excited about Disney's new Art of Animation Resort!  It is scheduled to open in Summer of 2012, but of course, this date is not carved in stone.  They are not able to be booked just yet, but if you click here, you can keep up to date on its progress!

The resort is set to be divided into four separate themed areas.  First, The Little Mermaid area will feature Value priced rooms similar to those found in Pop Century and the All Star resorts.  I am assuming that you can request interconnecting rooms, but I am not certain at this point.  Perhaps a better value for your particular family can be found in one of the Family Suites.  The remaining three areas, themed to The Lion King, Cars and Finding Nemo, will be completely dedicated to Family Suites that will hold up to six guests.  A small amount of these suites are currently housed in the All Star Music Resort; however, these new rooms will feature even more exciting innovations!

I personally cannot wait to try out this new resort and I am thrilled that Disney is offering even more affordable options for larger families like ours!

    Much pixie dust,
