Thank you for visiting planDisney with your
Walt Disney World Resort question, Ann! You’ve come to the right place! As a family that needs to travel with medication for our child when we visit the Theme Parks, I can understand wanting to plan for all situations.
After a quick glance through the
Walt Disney World Resort Property Rules and the list of Prohibited Items, I do not see anything speaking specifically to scissors. The only items specifically mentioned are firearms, ammunition, knives, and weapons. However, there is a sentence regarding their right to prohibit the use or storage of any other item not listed if deemed harmful. Given that the scissors you are bringing are TSA-compliant and being used for medical purposes, I would assume they would be allowed in, but we can’t be 100% sure until you arrive. As my family deals with something similar, before our first trip, I was proactive and purchased a small medical case from Amazon that included the caduceus, a symbol often associated with medicine. We carried this case separate from our other items so that if we were stopped, we could easily show what we were carrying and why. If the scissors you are bringing are inexpensive, I would also suggest getting a second pair to keep in your
Disney Resorts Collection hotel room if you lose a pair or a pair is confiscated.
If you forget your scissors or they are not allowed into the parks, you can rest assured knowing that each theme park and both water parks have
First Aid locations presented by AdventHealth. If you need help opening your medicine or if you are feeling ill, nurses are available during normal park hours to assist. They also have over-the-counter medications, bandages, and more if you are in a pinch.
In my 30-plus years of visiting The Most Magical Place on Earth, Ann, I have found that the friendly Cast Members will do whatever they can to make all Guests feel right at home. If you ever need anything, simply flag down the closest Cast Member, and I am sure they will help however they can.
I hope this helps answer your question and makes you feel more comfortable about your upcoming visit. Wishing you a fantastic, healthy, and unforgettable visit!
