Hi Stephen,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for your question. I just recently finished binge-watching ABC’s
Once Upon a Time, and so when I saw your question I got really excited and had to do some resEARch.
It turns out that yes, the pawn shop we fans of
Once Upon a Time know so well could indeed be found in Disney’s Hollywood Studios a few years ago. Walking through the Streets of America section of the park was such a magical experience, because you could see buildings, storefronts, and scenes right out of beloved movies and even take pictures in front of your favorites. Mr. Gold’s Pawnbroker & Antiquities Dealer was one of these storefronts, and I must have walked past it so many times without even realizing there was a piece of Storybrooke right in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Unfortunately, the Streets of America closed in 2016, and Mr. Gold’s shop can no longer be found in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Since you’re a big fan of
Once Upon a Time, I recommend stopping in at the
ABC Commissary restaurant, where you might see some posters from the show.
This Disney Parks Blog article features some great pictures from Mr. Gold’s Pawnbroker & Antiquities Dealer’s storefront, and I hope they give you a glimpse of those fantastic details Disney is known for. The great news, of course, is that if you’re looking to be immersed in fairy tale lands like Emma, Snow, Hook, and company, there’s no better place than Walt Disney World Resort - and you don't even need a magical bean to get there!
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
