Hey, howdy, hey, Cheryl and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Our first "home" at Walt Disney World Resort was at
Disney's Pop Century Resort. My kids still love the giant generation icons like the Mickey Mouse phone and the Big Wheel outside the '70s buildings and the Rubix Cube colorfully twisted representing the '80s.
I contacted Guest Services, Housekeeping and Engineering to get the exact roll-in shower dimensions. The information I received is all showers are able to accommodate wheelchairs in a space that has a minimum 60"x30" inside dimension. The showers have several features to make bathing easier. First, there is a hollow compressible rubber threshold so you can roll over it and keep water from soaking the sink area. Second, in some rooms, a mesh covered bench is soundly anchored near the shower head while in those without a bench, one can be requested. Third, the shower head is adjustable on a vertical track to give more range of use. Whether you need to roll in or transfer to a seat you should have plenty of room. To make a special room request contact Disney Resort Hotel Reservations at (407) 939-1936. Please note every effort is made to fulfill your need and special requests are subject to availability.
If you need more specific information then please contact Disability Services by email at disability.services@disneyparks.com or call (407) 560-2547.
Disney Dad Tip: Magic comes in many forms and Disney does the best at creating it for all Guests with additional
Services for Guests with Mobility Disabilities including the
Disney Parks Disability Access Service Card.
Cheryl, enjoy making many Magical Memories.
