Hi Barbara Daniela,
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel – it’s nice to hear from you again! My family stayed at Disney’s Contemporary Resort on our most recent Walt Disney World vacation, and one of our favorite things to do was sit in
Contempo Café and watch the monorail zoom into the hotel.
Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa – also known as the monorail loop resorts – have extremely limited Guest parking capacity. Generally speaking, Guests are welcome to visit Walt Disney World resort hotels for dining, shopping, or exploring, and may park during their visit for up to three hours, at the discretion of the Cast Member at the parking booth. Those with Table Service dining reservations are given priority, and it’s not unusual to be turned away at the monorail resorts because of the limited parking spaces.
My advice is to
park at the Transportation and Ticket Center and take the monorail over to Disney’s Contemporary Resort for your lunch. Another option is to work that lunch into your plans if you’ll be visiting Magic Kingdom Park. My family usually plans to arrive at Magic Kingdom Park in time for park opening, enjoy our morning there, and then we hop on the monorail for lunch at one of the resorts. It’s a nice break from all the excitement and energy, and the monorail loop resorts have superb dining options.
Enjoy your visit to Contempo Café, Barbara Daniela. Don’t miss their delicious specialty cupcakes – on my last visit, I had one that featured a teeny chocolate monorail, and it was as delicious as it was gorgeous!
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
