Well hello there Mike, I'd like to wish you a warm Canadian welcome back to planDisney!
There's something really special about staying at
Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside, from the hustle and bustle by the water wheel on the waterfront and the chance to spot some rare
Character Friends dropping by for a visit to the sleepy sounds of the gurgling fountains after the sun sets on this beautiful resort. The
regal touches found within the Royal Guest Rooms are most certainly Princess Tiana-approved as you look out past the cast-iron railings to gaze at the river beyond,
Since the Royal Guest Rooms are located in the section of the resort named Magnolia Bend, you'll find that the walk itself can take no more than a few minutes as you traverse the bridge over the Sassagoula River located just between the
Oak Manor and
Parterre Place mansion buildings. In my personal experience, the longest part tends to be making our way over and around the winding exterior corridors to use the central elevators, so be sure to take note of the nearest staircases as you head over to the main Sassagoula Steamboat Company to find the Front Desk, lobby and dining establishments such as
Boatwright's Dining Hall and the
Riverside Mill Food Court. (I once dashed over from
Oak Manor Lawn to
Fulton's General Store to make a quick purchase and it took me less than 5 minutes!)
During your stay, I highly recommend
taking advantage of the bike rentals here as it's definitely one of the Disney Resort Hotels that provide ample space to ride with stunning waterfront views as you breeze past beneath the boughs of Spanish moss hanging in the trees overhead. Just be mindful of
the Horse-Drawn Carriages that are very popular and can often be found from around sunset and into the evening! We're always happy to have you back here at planDisney Mike - don't hesitate to
come back again for any more tips or tricks before your next stay.
Be sure to have a beignet for me over at the French Quarter!
