Hi! I was wondering how many items each person is allowed to bring for autographs. I was wanting to bring a notebook and a water bottle (nothing too outrageous). Thank you for your help!!

Hiya Brittney, I'm happy to give you the official Royal welcome to planDisney!

As a former Cast Member in the Entertainment department, I spent a considerable amount of time hanging out with our character friends and it was always neat to see folks and families bringing all kinds of whosits and whatsits galore in the hope that they would be autographed. (Sometimes you could absolutely tell whenever there were certain online trends when a lot of similar items come up to be signed all at once, ranging from photo mats to phone cases and even dinner plates!)

You'll be happy to hear that our Character friends are happy to sign more than one item during your interaction with them, but it's always a good idea to let them know first or ask their Character Attendant (often clad in berry-blue colors) so that everyone is on the same page. Speaking of page, one of my biggest tips is to have the book that you'd like your autographs in already open to the spot you want when you're about a family or two away from your turn; having a nice, thick pen or marker ready to go with the cap off would also be very much appreciated by everyone!

When it comes to the Character Experiences at Walt Disney World Resort, whether you'll be able to request an autograph may vary depending on the setting and who you'll be meeting. For example, some Characters may be making brief appearances and passing through the area in places like Black Spire Outpost at Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge while others might have more time to sign additional items at certain Character Dining Experiences. Something else to keep in mind is that while flat surfaces are typically preferred for autographs, it's not unheard of for other items to be signed like backpacks or clothing items - as long as they're not being worn in that moment. Your best bet for anything with an uneven, rounded or slippery surface like a water bottle is to ask the Character Attendant first so they can check whether it is something that can be autographed. (It may help to know that many of the water bottles that I have personally seen trending online have actually been designed with vinyl prints taken from existing autographs, so that may be an option to consider in the event that certain Characters are unable to sign your bottle for you directly!)

If you're headed this way sometime soon, be sure to say hello to my dear friends Moana and Mirabel who are also dropping by for a visit beginning this year - I bet so many fellow fans have been eager to snag their sought-after signatures! I hope to see you back here at planDisney again for any more tips or tricks and answers to your questions ahead of your next Disney Adventure.

Wishing you all the best on your quest for some successful Autograph Hunting!
