I am wondering about ID for drinks at Disney. I have a valid passport but my driver’s license expired last year. Would I be able to use it as a second piece of ID?

    Hi Melissa!

Thank you for sending us your question and welcome to planDisney. I can see that your trip is coming soon - you must be so excited! You picked an especially magical time to come to visit with The World's Most Magical Celebration in full swing, and you will arrive just in time for the EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival, my favourite. As a foodie myself, I absolutely love to try the unique treats and beverages the Walt Disney World Resort has to offer and I am so excited that you will be able to try out different things as well.

Of course, guests over 21 years old must bring a valid form of ID everywhere to purchase alcoholic beverages. Unfortunately, the ID must be valid and non-expired, so they would not be able to accept your expired driver's license. However, you can use either your passport, a paper or electronic copy of your passport, another state-issued ID or a military ID as valid forms of identification. It is also important to note that if anyone in your party is from outside of the U.S., they will have to have their passport and a valid piece of ID as an ID card alone would not be sufficient.

Now, Melissa, I thought I would share some of my favourite drinks from around the resort if you would like suggestions! I personally love sweeter drinks, so the Tokyo Sunset from the Japan Pavilion is a must-do for me. However, since you will be visiting during the EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival, you must try the Violet Sake! Inspired by the festival's famous Violet Lemonade, it is the most refreshing and instagrammable drink out there with its vibrant purple colour. Over at Disney's Hollywood Studios, I cannot recommend Oga's Cantina enough. Located inside Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, it is an intergalactic bar with incredible ambiance and the most unique drinks you will find on property. The Fuzzy TaunTaun is a new favourite for me, but I would also highly recommend The Outer Rim if you want something fruity but not too sweet.

I hope this was helpful, Melissa, and that you have the best day ever on your upcoming Disney vacation! If you have any other questions in the time leading up to your visit, don't hesitate to reach out. We are always happy to help and share our favourite treats!

    Cheers,
