Hi ...I was wondering if you could help recommend a resort for us. This will be my families first trip to WDW. We are a family of three with a 5yr old. I will be celebrating my 40th birthday. Thinking of a delux. Want it to be very special for all of us.

Every day is a special day at Disney, so you've picked a great place to celebrate!  Each resort offers unique theming and perks, so it's tough to suggest one for your family without knowing your criteria.  That said, I can tell you that I thoroughly enjoy the Epcot area resorts (Beach Club, Yacht Club, and Boardwalk) for their proximity to the park.  It's very pleasant to be able to walk over to the World Showcase for dinner each night.  Of those three, my favorite would probably be the Beach Club, in part because of the amazing Stormalong Bay pool.

You might also consider a stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.  One of the savannah view rooms would definitely add a special touch to your celebration.  Be sure to make reservations for a special birthday dinner at Jiko; the food is second to none!

Given your inclination to plan a magical trip, I can already tell we have a lot in common. I'm Darcie, and my friends would be the first to tell you that Disney trip planning (especially dining!) is my love language. Of course, the vacations my family enjoys today look much different than they did when our kids were little, but while some of our favorite activities have evolved, Disney destinations still top our travel wish lists. Let's work together to plan a downright dreamy vacation for your family! Learn More About Darcie
