Hi Jennifer,
Thank you for stopping by planDisney with a great question!
Since we LOVE visiting during
The Holidays at Walt Disney World Resort, I am happy to provide some insight for you! As you suspect, it is a busy time of year. We always book a vacation package early. You will need to make sure your vacation package or resort hotel and theme park tickets are linked in
My Disney Experience. Then, you would need to make
Disney Park Pass system reservations for each day that you plan to visit the theme parks. If you have not made park pass reservations yet, I would check the
theme park reservation availability calendar for the specific dates of your visit.
As long as we have time to make park pass and
advanced dining reservations, we can navigate the crowds and have an excellent time. If you have not yet made advanced dining reservations, check to see what is available before making a final decision. Although you can do
Mobile Food & Beverage Ordering, wait times could be much longer, so it helps to have some guaranteed times to eat.
You can also take advantage of
Disney Genie and Disney Genie+ service as well as
Lightning Lane selections to make the most of your visit. The last few years that we have visited during the holidays, we have simply adored the festive spirit, the characters dressed in their holiday best, and the special events including the
EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays and the
EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays - Candlelight Processional. We booked a Candlelight Processional Dining Package. Although these may look sold out online, keep checking! You may be able to get one.
Jennifer, I hope this helps to provide some perspective. Whatever decision you make, I recommend that you make it quickly! It truly is a magical time of year to visit!
Magic and memories,
Donyell
