Welcome to planDisney, Jim. Thanks for swinging by with your question.
Most vacations are relaxing and laid back. This usually is not the case when you are visiting the
Walt Disney World Resort. These trips involve a little bit of walking and recharging is very important on my visits. One of the off-the-beaten-path recreational activities is fishing while on vacation. This is one of those activities where you are doing something, but you do get a decent amount of rest unless they are really biting. There are
Fishing Locations across a few resorts. Most of these activities will be guided fishing excursions. While fishing is available at
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort you cannot fish off the pier. You can set out on the Seven Seas Lagoon on a Suntracker pontoon boat with up to 5 guests. All of these excursions include tackle, rod and reel, bait, and an experienced guide. Assorted Coca-Cola products are available as well. These can be booked in 2 or 4-hour excursions, and advanced reservations are highly recommended.
Some other things to remember is to make sure you bring some patience. Fishing is usually most fun when you make sure to bring that with you. Life jackets will be provided and are required for children ages 12 and under. Don’t forget stuff to protect you from the elements like sunscreen, sunscreen and maybe a hat. You will be fishing for large-mouth bass and if you would like to learn more about them visit
takemefishing.org. Please note all fishing is catch and release.
