just wondering if any fireworks will take place in 2021 I was there last christmas and really missed them. hope the florida state will allow them. hoping maybe for labor day thanks Barb

    Hi Barbara!

I, like you, have really been missing fireworks on my recent Walt Disney World Resort visits. There's just nothing better than ending the day in the theme parks with some awesome Disney entertainment, and their fireworks are nothing short of amazing. I can't wait until I can once again see bursts of fireworks illuminate the night sky over Cinderella Castle - I'll need a pocket full of tissues ready for the tears that are sure to come!

With the recent announcements that face coverings are now optional in outdoor areas, and physical distancing markers are being moved from six feet to three feet apart in certain areas, I'm encouraged that maybe Nighttime Spectaculars can soon be part of the magic again. Slowly but surely, more and more entertainment offerings are returning to the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks, and my fingers are crossed that fireworks will be back soon! I can't wait to see what's in store with Epcot's upcoming Nighttime Spectacular, HarmoniUS, but no announcements have been made about when Guests will be able to experience it.

I encourage you to stay tuned to the Disney Parks Blog and Walt Disney World on Facebook and Twitter for the most up-to-date information and announcements about the possibility of fireworks returning to Walt Disney World Resort this summer.

In the temporary absence of parades and fireworks, a super-fun entertainment offering that's been created during Walt Disney World's phased reopening are Character Cavalcades - "mini-parades" in all four parks, with appearances from beloved Disney Characters:

In Magic Kingdom Park, you can see the Magic Kingdom Cavalcade, Mickey and Friends Cavalcade, A Goofy Cavalcade, The Royal Princess Processional, and Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure.

In Epcot, keep an eye out for the Mickey and Friends World Tour and the Princess Promenade, as well as Characters making appearances in some of the gorgeous grassy areas around the park!

Disney's Hollywood Studios hosts some super-cool motorcades, including the Mickey and Friends Motorcade, the Pixar Pals Motorcade, and a motorcade with favorite Disney Junior friends, including Doc McStuffins and my favorite, Vamperina.

In Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, keep an eye on the waterways to spot fun flotillas, full of favorite Disney pals! You might see the Mickey and Friends Flotilla, Discovery Island Drummers Flotilla, Discovery River Character Cruise, Donald's Dino Bash Flotilla, or see Goofy and Pals Set Sail!

While I've really missed the fireworks and parades, I kind of hope they keep the cavalcades - they're tons of fun!

    Thanks for visiting planDisney!
