Was wondering if any other families have used the Meal Plans(the ones with 2 table serveper person & snacks). I would like to know are they worth it? My children will be 8 1/2 & 7 when we go to Disney!

    Hi Renee,

The deluxe meal plan is just that -- DELUXE!  You definitely won't go hungry, and you'll have the opportunity to experience some incredible meals.  Is it worth the money?  That depends on how your family plans to eat.

If you plan on eating three meals per day, you'll find that it's a lot of food!  Yes, you'll definitely save money if you dine at 3 table service locations each day, but you'll also spend quite a bit of valuable park time in restaurants.  For some people that's great, but I'm guessing your children would rather spend time on attractions!

If you plan on eating at one table service restaurant per day and using the rest of your credits for quick, counter service meals, you won't really find any significant savings.

To me, the best way to make the plan work for you is to plan on dining 2 times each day.  Make reservations for a character meal each morning or an early lunch at a fun restaurant like 50s PrimeTime Cafe or Biergarten.  Then, plan to dine at a signature restaurant or dinner show each evening.  Signature restaurants require 2 dining credits per person, but the food is amazing!  You can use your snack credits to stave off hunger in between meals.

Remember, snack credits buy much more than junk food.  Fresh fruit, cereal, even baked potatoes in Epcot can all be purchased with snack credits.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
