Hi Emma! The holidays are such a great time for a Walt Disney World visit and you will have fun planning this for next year.
The resorts will all be decked out with special things such as the life size Gingerbread House at the Grand Floridian and the chocolate carrousel at the Beach Club. Make sure you plan some time where you can resort hop to see all of these things.
My biggest recommendation for you is to watch for the announcement of the Candlelight Dinner Show packages and book one of those during your stay. This holiday show is amazing and something you won't want to miss. Making a dining package assures you of a seat for a particular show as with its popularity being so strong the stand by guests can often be shut out. This opportunity is usually made available in late summer and early fall.
You will also want to see the holiday Illuminations which has an addition to its regular show. The Magic Kingdom castle and holiday festivities are a must with the parades and fireworks there being the best. This year Hollywood Studios also had a holiday projection show and fireworks nightly in front of the Great Movie Ride and that was fabulous.
So you see there will many different things to see and do in all of the parks at this time of year. Disney Springs is also festive and decked out with trees and entertainment. Santa can be found in almost every park at different times of the day. Be sure and keep up with the
Disney Parks Blog as this is the place that will announce any new happenings for the holidays next year!
