Ahoy there, Naveen, and welcome aboard planDisney! I'm so excited you're planning a Disney Cruise Line vacation with a stop at
Disney Castaway Cay!
The age old...er...age young...uh...the dilemma about what to do with kiddos on Disney Castaway Cay while you take the opportunity to achieve some "serenity" with a couple's massage or time relaxing! Having visited Castaway Cay both as a kid myself, and now with our own little one, I know firsthand that there is plenty to do to keep castaways of all ages busy! From the Teen Hideout for teens, the Castaway Family Beach for the entire crew, and Scuttle's Cove for Guests 3-12!
At Scuttle's Cove, some of the fun activities available over the years have been things like Sand Castle Fun, Disney Beach Party, Sand Soccer, Water Games, Capture the Flag, and Scavenger Hunts. If your little ones are into digging in the sand, Dig at Monstro's Point, which is located adjacent to Scuttle's cove! Who wouldn't like discovering whale teeth at the excavation site?
While the younger castaways have Scuttles Cove, and the older teens have Teen Hideout, the tweens don't have a dedicated hangout but that doesn't mean they're on their own! The youth activities counselors make sure there's plenty to fill the time. Counselors from
Edge usually set up shop at "In Da Shade" to keep the fun going for 11-to-14-year-olds! Just like on the ship, they'll be able to head over to that pavilion - which is located right near the family beach, and enjoy programmed activities! These activities may vary, but I know that in the past some options have included Sand Soccer, Hangin' "In Da Shade," Lunch with all their new friends at Cookie's BBQ, Pelican Plunge, Invade Teen Hideout, and more!
So, no matter what you have in mind for enjoying Castaway Cay, that should give you the peace of mind that your young sailors will have a watchful eye on them and their newest friends! Just be sure to check your Disney Cruise Line Navigator app for the most up-to-date information about activities offerings. Oh, and remember, just like
Disney's Oceaneer Club, Edge, and
Vibe on the ship, youth programming is included in your Disney Cruise Line vacation!
I hope that lets you breathe a sigh of relief as you get ready to continue planning! Get ready to be more relaxed than you've been in years, I'm sure! Thank you so much for your question, Naveen, and if you dig any others up between now and the time you set sail, you know where to find me at planDisney! Until then, here's to smooth sailing for you and your crew!
SEA ya real soon!
Andrew
