Hi Nitzia!
Welcome to planDisney! Thank you so much for sending this great
Disneyland Resort planning question to us hEAR. I'm happy to be your planEAR today!
I know exactly which ticket gift cards you're talking about, Nitzia. When my family was stationed in Southern California, we'd see the same "3-day Park Hopper" or "2-day 1-Park Per Day" Disney gift card ticket vouchers at places like Target, the home improvement store, as well as all of the local grocery stores. These tickets are generally only valid for Disneyland Resort
or Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, but not both. The ticket packaging should say for which coast the tickets are meant to be used. Another clue is that the tickets are generally only available in a specific region, and are usually only sold for whichever theme park they are closest to. In your case I'm going to say the ticket cards you can find in Arizona are only to be used at Disneyland Resort in California. (I currently live in Texas and I haven't seen theme park ticket gift cards for either coast for sale in stores hEAR because I imagine there could be a lot of room for error in Guests accidentally showing up for a vacation on the wrong coast!)
I do have good news, Nitzia, which is that regular
Disney Gift Cards, the kind that do not say they are specifically for theme park tickets, can be used almost anywhere at Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Resort, Disney Cruise Line, Aulani - A Disney Resort & Spa in Hawaii, ShopDisney.com, and for spending at Disney Vacation Club properties. These gift cards can be purchased in the theme parks, online at ShopDisney.com, and even in stores and gas stations where you live. Some warehouse club stores even sell these cards at a slight discount, like at Sam's Club. But my favorite place to buy Disney Gift Cards is at Target where the 5% Red Card savings does apply to this purchase. I'll buy enough gift cards with the discount to cover all of our
dining,
park tickets, our entire
Disneyland Resort Hotel stay, even our
souvenEARs! I will say, though, that it's more fun to
purchase physical cards through ShopDisney.com as there are dozens of fun designs and each card comes with a postcard size print of the same artwork. This makes for a fun scrapbook item or even a small piece of framed art.
I hope that this helped to clEAR things up a big, Nitzia! Don't forget to follow the
