Hi Katherine,
Welcome to planDisney and thank you for asking us a question, my fellow Canadian! There’s such a great variety of events taking place on any given day at the
ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. I had no idea it existed until I started participating in
runDisney events, and now I always check to see whether any fun events are scheduled to take place there during my visits to Walt Disney World Resort!
Based on my experience, transportation for most events and competitions, including the 2023 World Cheerleading Championships, is organized by the event’s planning team and not by Disney itself. From what I understand, chartered bus transportation is usually offered by event organizers between any of the “package hotels” that they’ve designated as part of their event and the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex on event days. This means that, if
Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort isn’t one of the hotels designated by event organizers as part of their travel package, they likely won’t have charter buses running to ESPN during the competition from that location. In addition, I understand that sometimes an event will limit bus transportation to participants only and spectators will need to make their own arrangements. If you have any questions about what kinds of transportation will/won’t be offered during this event, I strongly recommend that you contact the event’s organizers for more information.
Walt Disney World Bus Service unfortunately isn’t likely to run between the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex and other
Disney Resorts Collection hotels during this event weekend. That said, there’s still a great option for you and your family to get around Walt Disney World Resort, including to ESPN, in style and comfort: Disney’s
Minnie Van service! It’s a great option for you to get where you’re going quickly, and hassle-free, throughout your Disney Day.
I hope my answer helps you plan your vacation this April! Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions.
Have a Magical Day,
Lynne
