Hi James,
It's lovely to have you dropping by planDisney with such a great question!
The Walt Disney World Resort has implemented a number of different
health and safety measures. We visited in July and I just did a girls' trip with my daughters last weekend. Although I know that there is always a heath risk when traveling, I felt safe, especially because we elected to wear our masks at all times. During our visits, masks were required in indoor spaces and on
Walt Disney World® Transportation. Cast members were diligent about enforcing the mask guidelines. I must add that we took a direct, non-stop flight and remained on Disney property once we arrived.
We also have a trip booked for December. I would advise that you keep an eye on the health updates for Florida and the
operational updates for the Walt Disney World Resort.
Disney Very Merriest After Hours tickets are non-refundable so you will need to
contact a Cast Member by phone to see if there are any options.
On our most recent visit, we also stayed at the Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and walked or took the monorail to Magic Kingdom. We also walked to Disney's Polynesian Village Resort for a breakfast reservation and from there, walked to the Transportation & Ticket Center to catch the monorail to EPCOT. Being able to walk minimized our time on bus transportation. And when we took
Walt Disney World® Monorail Transportation, it was not very crowded.
James, I know it is a tough decision, but the good news is that you have some time. I will add that we also limited our time with masks off at meals. We kept our masks on until our food came and put them back on as soon as we finished eating. At most restaurants, I felt that the spacing between tables was sufficient. Stay tuned. I have hope that you will find your way to a world of magic soon!
Magic and memories,
Donyell
