Hello and welcome, Madison. Congratulations on your engagement. I know that you are going to have the most magical honeymoon celebrating your marriage at Walt Disney World!
Madison, right now we haven't received word on exactly when the
Disney Dining Plan might return. About a month or so ago the
Disney Parks Blog did announce that the plan will come back they just aren't exactly sure when. We are slowly but surely returning to a world of magic at Walt Disney World and more and more things are coming back to us every day. I think they will wait until most, if not all, of the restaurants are opened back up. But, if you go ahead and book your vacation package and the Disney Dining Plan is offered during your vacation, I am certain you'll be able to add it to your package at a later date. If it looks anything like it did before, you would be able to add it up to 48 hours prior to your check-in. Something I've been doing in place of the Disney Dining Plan is picking up Disney Gift Cards here and there. I like to add a small one to my grocery cart each week. I'm always amazed at how quickly they add up. Disney Gift Cards are kind of like the Disney Dining Plan because the money is deducted from your bank account and has to be used for something at Walt Disney World. So it's like all of those splurgy meals and treats are already paid for! If you start grabbing some here and there before your honeymoon, you'll have plenty saved up for your trip. And if the Disney Dining Plan does come back, you can use the Disney Gift Cards that you've already collected to help pay the balance of your vacation package.
Currently, Madison, you are able to make
advanced dining reservations 60 days prior to your check-in day. You'll be able to make them for the length of your stay up to 10 days. You can make reservations by calling 407-WDW-DINE starting at 7:00 a.m. Mickey Mouse's time or online starting at 6:00 a.m. Some of the best and most popular places can fill up really quickly so I recommend setting your alarm early and being online right before 6:00 a.m. to get your top picks.
If you are looking for a dining suggestion, my favorite spot to grab dinner at Walt Disney World right now is
The BOATHOUSE at Disney Springs. The restaurant is set on the lake at Disney Springs and it's a perfect spot to watch the sun go down and then Disney Springs comes alive with lights in the evening. There's something on the menu for everyone but I recommend the lobster roll. I like to get it served warm with butter and I always upgrade to the truffle fries. It's an incredible meal!
Madison, I hope you have a practically perfect honeymoon at Walt Disney World. If you'd like other recommendations or need help with anything else, I'm your girl! Please feel free to come back and
ask me.
Have a great day!
